SSE "Chornobyl NPP" within the Shelter object transformation into ecologically safe system has obtained a separate permission OD No 000033/9 to perform activity work on existing ChNPP II generation building constructions strengthening and sealing. These constructions are part of the New Safe Confinement (NSC) and perform the functions of the NSC boundary.

Permission is issued on the basis of the positive conclusion of the State Expertise of Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the working design "Reconstruction of the main building of ChNPP II generation (Units 3, 4) with reinforcement and sealing of the constructions, performing NSC boundaries functions".

For information: NSC building construction consists of two main components:  NSC Arches with life supporting systems, installation of which is carried out at a distance from the SO with subsequent sliding it into the design position, as well as of the existing ChNPP II generation building constructions, located within the Turbine Hall, deaerator stack, block B and auxiliary systems of reactor compartment (ASRC) serving as the enclosing contour.

Currently, joint venture "Novarka" (France) with participation of Ukrainian and foreign subcontractors realise NSC Arch construction.
