1. Firefighting Status

Extinguishing of the fire of the filler material of the NSC’s outer cladding is ongoing. Three fire hoses are in operation at a height of 87 metres, with continued soaking of the insulation and membrane. Rope access specialists are conducting partial dismantling of the NSC Arch structures and filling voids under the building’s roof with fire-extinguishing agents. A total of 20 units of equipment and 84 personnel from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) are engaged at the site.

2. Technical Condition of the Object Shelter (OS) and New Safe Confinement (NSC-OS)

The external and internal cladding of the NSC Arch, as well as equipment of the Main Cranes System have been damaged. Local fires on the external and internal cladding of the NSC Arch have also been identified. A special inspection of the enclosing and load-bearing structures of the NSC Arch and the Main Cranes System Maintenance Garage has been conducted, revealing the following damages:

NSC external cladding:

• Through destruction covering an area of approximately 15 m²;
• Defects in the cladding without total destruction covering up to 200 m²;
• Damage to the internal filler material of the cladding;
• Destruction of bolt connections is present.

Load-bearing structures of the garage:

• Deformed structural connection points in the upper part of the Main Cranes System Maintenance Garage.

3. Radiation Status

No deterioration of the radiation situation at the NSC-OS site or at the ChNPP site as a whole has been recorded. No release of radioactive substances beyond the established limits has been detected.
