On 3 April, a delegation of French and Ukrainian high-ranking officials visited the Chornobyl NPP industrial site. Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, together with Pierre Heilbronn, Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction and representatives of the French Embassy in Ukraine, visited critical ChNPP facilities and the results of the Russian drone hit in the NSC. The guests visited the premises under the New Confinement Arch, the North Garage of the main crane system as well as the dry spent fuel storage facility (ISF-2). In particular, the delegation visited the “Solar Chornobyl-1” solar power plant located on the industrial site.
During the meeting with the plant's management, they discussed the issues of ChNPP life support and current problems of its functioning.
The visit was concluded with a visit to the former town of power engineers Pripyat and the “Chornobyl-2” site.
Ms. Svitlana Grynchuk and Mr. Pierre Heilbronn continue to work actively to restore Ukraine's critical infrastructure and develop international cooperation, which is essential to ensure the stability and reconstruction of the country.
