In September 2025, as part of the implementation of Project U4. 01/18B ‘Modernisation of the Dosimetric Control system in the Exclusion zone and Environmental (radiation) monitoring at the Vector complex and the Buryakivka waste disposal site,’ the Individual Dosimetric Control Laboratory of the Radiation Safety Department received new equipment for IDC.
This is the latest modular system from Mirion Technologies, designed to measure external human radiation doses using the modern method of optically stimulated luminescence. The use of up-to-date technologies, materials and solutions allows information about the radiation dose not to be lost when reading the dosimeter, with the operation itself taking only a few seconds.
The new system is an important step towards ensuring stable and high-quality individual dosimetry control at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
