The 50th rotation of the IAEA mission took place at the Chornobyl NPP

On the 7th of October, 2025 the new team of the IAEA experts arrived to Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant site. It is already the 50th rotation of the IAEA permanent monitoring mission at the site.

The mission includes the specialists from Pakistan and Brazil, who have got the many years of experience in the field of nuclear safety. Within three weeks they will monitor the state of the Chornobyl NPP systems and equipment, assess the compliance with safety requirements and familiarize themselves with the current situation at the enterprise.

The presence of the IAEA experts at the Chernobyl NPP is a part of ongoing international cooperation aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of Ukrainian nuclear facilities in particular under martial law.

Such missions help to maintain a high level of nuclear and radiation safety, they contribute to the transparency of Nuclear Power Plant activities and strengthen the trust of the world community in Ukrainian nuclear energy.
