    Information on the status of the emergency situation elimination at the site of New Safe Confinement (NSC) and Shelter object complex as a result of a direct hit by a russian UAV into the protective shell of the NSC as of 16:00 on 24/02/2025

    1. Fire fighting Status

    1. Work is underway to identify and extinguish smoldering places with partial opening of the structures, and cut openings.

    2. The necessary forces and means of the State Emergency Service are being deployed. A group of climbers is on standby. Work is periodically suspended due to the air raids and personnel removal.

    Information on the status of the damage elimination on the external and internal cladding of the New Safe Confinement (NSC) Arch as a result of a direct hit by a russian UAV into the protective shell of the NSC as of 13:00 on 21/02/2025.

    1. Firefighting Status

    1. The NSC Arch cladding is monitored continuously by the State Emergency Service (SES) personnel with the involvement of specialized teams. In particular, thermal imaging aerial monitoring of the entire NSC perimeter is carried out.

    SES personnel, special vehicles and equipment are on the alert

    ChNPP Completed Pilot Operation of the Facility for Material Release from Regulatory Control

    The report with the results of the pilot operation of the facility for material release from regulatory control received a positive conclusion from the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine.

    The facility was created with the financial support of the European Union with the objective to improve the safety and cost-effectiveness of all types of radioactive waste management in Ukraine and to take all possible measures to reduce their amount.

    Work on localisation and elimination of certain smouldering areas of the NSC shell by specialised personnel of the State Emergency Service with the involvement of specialised groups are underway, work on partial opening of structures, and holes are being cut for the final elimination of smouldering areas is in process.
    Thermal imaging monitoring of the NSC structures is performed.
