Today, on the 26th of April, on the 29th anniversary of Chоrnobyl disaster, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited the ChNPP industrial site.
Together with his attendants the President paid tribute to the memory of all those, who sacrificed their lives and health having saved the world from the severest technogenic radiation accident in the history of mankind.
Petro Poroshenko visited the Shelter Observation Pavilion, where he was familiarized with details of 1986 accident consequences elimination process and the current state of activities on Shelter Object transformation into an environmentally safe system, and left the note in the Distinguished Visitors' Book.
At the New Safe Confinement’s Arch assembling site the President had an opportunity to see actually the process of constructing the protective structure that will make the Shelter Object safe for the next one hundred years.
In the course of the visit the President communicated a lot with personnel of the Plant, took interest in details of production tasks, level of wages, psychological state in the team.
During a short briefing the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko reminded of the heroism of ChNPP accident liquidators, called to remember and respect their feat, and thanked personnel of ChNPP and contracting organizations for day-to-day hard and important work.
