A meeting chaired by Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, took place at Chornobyl NPP on June 2.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Head of the State Exclusion Zone Management Agency of Ukraine Yevhen Kramarenko, ChNPP Acting Director General Valeriy Seyda and the heads of leading enterprises of the Exclusion Zone.

During the meeting a number of problems caused by this territory occupation by Russian troops in February-March 2022 were discussed, as well as the planned activities aimed at restoring the full-scale activity of the enterprises subordinated to the SAMEZ.

During the visit the Minister awarded the Order of Courage of the Third Degree to Chornobyl NPP and enterprises of exclusion zone personnel - engineers, electricians, locksmiths and other employees who remained at their workplaces and worked continuously, even under the occupation. On behalf of the President of Ukraine, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Chornobyl NPP staff, whose workers saved the world from a new nuclear disaster by their courageous and professional work.
