On the Memorial Day of the Liquidators of the Chernobyl Accident, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has laid flowers to the memorial sign "To the Warriors of Chernobyl" and the memorial mound "To the Heroes of Chernobyl".
The Head of State and the attendees have honored the memory of the dead liquidators with a moment of silence.
The ceremony has also been attended by Kyiv CSA Head Vitaliy Klitschko, Kyiv RSA Head Volodymyr Shandra, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and Verkhovna Rada, public figures and clergy.
