The State Nuclear Regulatory Authority issued to the State Specialized Enterprise Chernobyl NPP an individual permission of Series ED No.000033\10 for operation of the Integrated Automated Monitoring System (IAMS) of the Shelter Object.
The IAMS is designed for automated monitoring of the Shelter conditions and improvement of nuclear, radiation and general occupational safety of this object including emergency preparedness.
The IAMS consists of four monitoring systems:
-Nuclear safety monitoring system;
-Radiation safety monitoring system;
-Structural integrity monitoring system;
-Seismic monitoring system.
These monitoring systems perform functions of measurement of the parameter values characterizing the state of Shelter safety, functions of signaling when the measured parameters reach the alarm pre-set thresholds, as well as functions of information display and storage, testing, changes of configuration of the monitoring systems, etc.
The permission was issued based on the results of fulfilling the state expert review of nuclear and radiation safety of the SSE ChNPP technical solution for operation of the Shelter Integrated Automated Monitoring System.
The permission was issued in accordance with the requirements of:
-Regulatory legal act “Conditions and procedure of issuance of individual written permissions for types of works or operations on the Shelter transformation into an environmentally safe system”;
-License for the Shelter Object operation, Series EO No.000033.
