On the 26th of April, as part of the events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the accident, the former residents of Prypiat planted more than 200 rose bushes.
The majority of them were planted in Slavutych, and the smaller part - symbolic 35 bushes, purchased by Chornobyl NPP were planted in Prypiat near the “Energetik” Palace of Culture.
Roses of several varieties were chosen, which next year will become a bright decoration of the former city of power engineers and a symbol of revival, which is this flower. And this is a remembrance of the unofficial status of Prypiat - the "city of roses", as 33 thousand bushes of these beautiful flowers used to be growing there in good times.
At the end of the event, guests had the opportunity to visit their former apartments and did not suppress their warm nostalgic feelings of being in their home town.
