From August 9 to 10, a technical tour around Chornobyl NPP was arranged for a group of Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) special potential senior staff pool.
As RNPP turbine shop employee Yevhen Burakov has said, the insights into the work progress of our nuclear power plants is a purposeful policy. This visit is the fourth group forwarded by RNPP top management within the development of special potential senior staff pool.
The visit programme was as broad as possible. During two days the guests visited key facilities of the power plant, namely the Main Building, LRTP, ICSRM, observed the work of a free release facility and visited the town of Chornobyl and the village of Kopachi.
“All facilities were very interesting. The visit to ICSRM enabled us to compare the methods of solid radioactive waste management applied at ChNPP and RNPP. We were impressed by the New Safe Confinement scale. But I as a turbine shop employee was mostly impressed by the activities performed in the Turbine Hall. As most part of equipment and aggregates has been dismantled by now, I had only to guess what was located and where,” – Yevhen mentioned.
The visitors expressed their hope that such group visits would be organized in future too as the development of skill pool would be carried on.
