    Cooperation between ChNPP and Clean Future Found continues!

    This week, the Clean Future Found (CFF) team realized its mission of assistance in Ukraine again. The main purpose of the visit was to assess the dog population and provide the necessary medical care to the animals.

    The team, consisting of Dr. Jennifer Betz, Eric Kamberian, Dr. Laurel Brenton, Derrin Wittbrot and Andriy Simon catched unsterilised dogs and cats for registration and subsequent ovariectomy/neutering and vaccination.

    After the visit to ChNPP site and the Exclusion Zone, the CFF team plans to work in the plant’s satellite town - Slavutych.

    The 25th rotation of the IAEA mission took place at ChNPP

    The International Atomic Energy Agency has carried out the 25th rotation of its permanent monitoring mission at the Chornobyl NPP.

    On 17 April 2024, a new group of specialists arrived at the Chornobyl NPP. The mission consists of international experts with high qualifications and experience in the field of nuclear energy.

    Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency monitor safety performance of Ukrainian NPPs and analyse data on improving NPP safety, in particular under martial law.

    EBRD and Chornobyl NPP sign Grant Agreement No.2

    On February 21, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the administrator of grant funds from International Chornobyl Cooperation Account, and the State Specialized Enterprise “Chornobyl NPP” signed Grant Agreement No.2 at SAUEZM office.

    Under this agreement the support will be provided for restoration of ChNPP infrastructure. As the EBRD Nuclear Safety Department Director Balthasar Lindauer said it is the start of a new stage and the Grant Agreement signing is a symbol of ChNPP safety and security programme commencement.

    ChNPP visited by European Commissioner for Environment

    On 10th February 2024, the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevičius visited Chornobyl NPP and the exclusion zone.

    The official delegation included representatives from the European Parliament and Commission, the European Climate Foundation, the European Institute of Peace, media outlets, and others. They were accompanied by representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources led by Ruslan Strilets and the leadership of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management.

    Chornobyl NPP and Exclusion Zone were visited by the participants of International Environmental Forum “United for Nature. Agenda for Ukraine”

    January 31, Chornobyl NPP and Exclusion Zone were visited by the participants of International Environmental Forum “United for Nature. Agenda for Ukraine” held in Kyiv. It has been already the second forum held under the auspices of United for Nature.  

    The delegation was led by Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets. Minister of Environment, Water and Forests of Romania Mircea Fechet, Minister of Environment of Moldova Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov, former Minister of Environment of Brazil Izabella Teixeira, the representatives of Embassy of Romania and embassy of Moldova to Ukraine, other guests were involved as participants of Forum “United for Nature. Agenda for Ukraine”
