Executives of Bouygues Travaux Publics Company made a technical visit to the Chernobyl NPP on 9th September. The delegation was headed by the Bouygues Group Chairman and CEO Mr. Martin Pierre Marie Bouygues.

The top managers of Bouygues Travaux Publics visited the Shelter observation pavilion, where they met with the ChNPP Director General Igor Gramotkin, managers of Project Management Unit (SIP PMU) and JV NOVARKA. 

They received information about the New Safe Confinement construction project progress. In addition, the Bouygues Travaux Publics representatives visited the Arch assembling area, were familiarized with the peculiarities of the current stage of erecting the main facility of the ChNPP site, and expressed the satisfaction with pace and quality of the performed activities.

Works on joining together the West and the East halves of the Arch were finished on July 24. The main moving of the Arch East half towards the West one up to the minimum gap, between the end parts of main metal structures (20-30 mm), was performed by afternoon of July 23. Adjustment and geodetic survey of the Arch East half’s position was made.

A Ukrainian delegation led by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valerii Voshchevskii for the Assembly of Chornobyl Shelter Fund donor countries in London agreed to continue financing of the New Safe Confinement at the Chernobyl NPP with donor countries. Valerii Voshchevskii announced today at a briefing at the Government House.

This was reached on the outcomes of the meetings of the Assembly of Chornobyl Shelter Fund donor countries and the Assembly of the Contributors of the Nuclear Safety Account, held on 16 July 2015 in London.
