During a regular emergency drill held at Slavutych office of Chornobyl NPP on May 30, plant’s employees practiced an algorithm for evacuation to the defense building in case of an air raid.
About 200 people, who were at the time of the training air raid announcement, left their workplaces and proceeded in an organized manner to the civil defense building, where they were familiarized with the arrangement and facility operation.
According to Dmytro Kondratov, Head of the Chernobyl Emergency Response Department, the training was successful, the goals set during the scenario development were achieved: "I am sure that in case of real threat, which can occur in conditions of ongoing war in our country, all participants of today's drill will be able quickly and operatively to reach safe place - actually the defense building and safely stay there until the danger disappears. Although, of course, it is desirable that we and our colleagues have never needed these skills in practice.


A joint emergency response exercise was successfully held at Chornobyl NPP on May 16. It was the first emergency drill after liberating the site from the russian occupation forces.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko visited SSE “Chornobyl NPP” site on 12th of May.
Since 9th of April, Chornobyl NPP has fully restored control over chemical parameters of water-chemical regime of the Interim Storage Facility for Spent Nuclear Fuel No.1 (ISF-1). ChNPP Deputy Technical Director (for RAW Management) Oleksandr Skomarokhov informed about this.
