
On 18 February, a series of meetings were held at the Chornobyl NPP focused on comprehensive review of the problems that arose as a result of damage by a russian drone to the New Safe Confinement, a structure known worldwide and created with financial, technical and material assistance from many countries of the world.
In the morning, representatives of Ukrainian research and construction institutions discussed with Chornobyl NPP management and technical experts the progress in overcoming the consequences of the strike and the measures necessary to restore the protective shell of the New Safe Confinement as much as possible. During the meeting, ChNPP experts presented in detail all levels of the problem caused by the damage to the NSC.





Firefighting efforts are ongoing. As of 13:00, work on the NSC continues. The firefighting team consists of nine SES rope access specialists, actively engaged in extinguishing the fire. Operations to open and soak two affected areas are in progress. An additional 21 rope access specialists are on standby. Three openings have been made, totaling approximately 2 square meters.
