On May 24, as part of a working visit, representatives of the management team of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), headed by the NASU’s President Anatolii Zahorodnii, arrived to the Exclusion Zone and Chornobyl NPP.
The visit was aimed at deepening the scientific support of activities in the Exclusion Zone, including activities on the decommissioning of the Chornobyl NPP and transformation of the Shelter Object into an environmentally safe system.
The NASU’s management held a working meeting at the ChNPP industrial site with a Head of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management (SAUEZM) Yevhen Kramarenko, Acting Director General of Chornobyl NPP Valeriy Seyda and the mayor of ChNPP satellite town Slavutych Yuri Fomichev.


On 27-28 April, Slavutych hosts the online International Conference on Nuclear Decommissioning and Environmental Recovery INUDECO 2023.
26 April 2023 – on the day of the 37th anniversary of the Chornobyl Disaster, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Mr Ruslan Strilets visited the Chornobyl NPP industrial site.
On 3 March, Germany’s Vice Chancellor, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen visited Slavutych, a Chornobyl NPP’s satellite town. The event was held within the activities dedicated to 37th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster.
