On April 29, the OSCE representatives, namely Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, and Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Mark Etherington visited Chornobyl NPP with a technical tour.
Our guests went to the New Safe Confinement (NSC) Central Control Room and inside the main space of the NSC Arch. There they were told about peculiarities of this unique facility functioning and current work progress on ChNPP industrial site including NSC.
«The mission has been working in Ukraine for over 20 years and we have done quite a lot of work in the environmental protection and recovery field. And we decided to have a look at one of the biggest environmental projects in the world whose intention is to protect the nature from the consequences of unprecedented human and environment catastrophe. We are very thankful to the ChNPP management for this opportunity,» — Mr Villadsen noted.


On the 26th of April, as part of the events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the accident, the former residents of Prypiat planted more than 200 rose bushes.
On 27 April 2021, the first assembly meeting of the International Chornobyl Cooperation Account (ICCA) was held. The new fund is to support and finance projects to be implemented at Chornobyl NPP site.
On 27 April 2021, the 6th International Conference on Nuclear Decommissioning and Environmental Recovery INUDECO-2021 started at Chornobyl NPP and in the city of Slavutych. The conference is held as part of the National programme of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster and pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine
On April 26, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Roman Abramovskyi, Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) Hryhorii Plachkov and other officials, visited the Chornobyl NPP site and the Exclusion Zone.
